Dan was the Chief Author for numerous bills last session (41 to be exact). A Chief Author gets the bill drafted, finds a Senate author to sponsor it in the Senate and introduces it to the General Register. Once introduced the Chief Author requests hearings in the appropriate committees and carries it through the committee process to the House floor for second and third readings. Of these bills more than half became law in one form or another.
